Kay Bahnmaier

Services for Kay Bahnmaier, 84, Topeka, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Kevin Brennan Funeral Home in Topeka. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Eastview Cemetery in Big Springs.Mrs. Bahnmaier died Friday, June 13, 2008, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.She was born Jan. 3, 1924, in Grand Rapids, Mich., the daughter of Byan and Opal Sheldon DePute. She was a longtime resident of Big Springs.Mrs. Bahnmaier owned and operated Kay’s Market in Big Springs during the 1960s. She worked as a secretary and bookkeeper most of her career. She was a member of Big Springs United Methodist Church.She married Clyde “Max” Bahnmaier on Dec. 14, 1946, in El Cajon, Calif. He died April 22, 1979.A brother, Harold DePute, also preceded her in death. Survivors include a son, Neal Bahnmaier and wife Heather; a daughter, Dianne Hilton; seven grandchildren, Troy and Shane Hilton, Doreen Weekley, and Rachel, Niall, Rhiannon and Riley Bahnmaier; and 11 great-grandchildren.The family suggests memorials to Midland Hospice, 200 S.W.
