Ann P. Schlager

Memorial services for Ann P. Schlager, 71, Princeville, will be at a later date in Hawaii.Mrs. Schlager died Wednesday, June 11, 2008 in Salina, Kan.She was born in Denver, the daughter of Herbert and Martha Prater.She received a Bachelor of General Studies with an emphasis in textile design from Kansas University and was a professional weaver for 10 years. She then received a Master of Historical Administration and Museum Studies from KU in 1986. She was the exhibits designer and collection manager of the ethnographic artifacts at the KU Museum of Anthropology until she retired in 1998. She and her husband retired to Hawaii where she was a volunteer at the Kauai Museum. She also was a volunteer for the Friends of the North Shore Library at Princeville, coordinating their quarterly book sales.She married Gunther “Jack” Schlager. He survives, of the home.Other survivors include a daughter, Karen Stansberry and husband Gary, of Salina; two sons, Michael and wife Lolly, of Houston, and Patrick, of Kissimmee, Fla.; two sisters, Sue Gossett and husband Newton, of Longmont, Colo., and Lee Yost and husband William, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson.The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Salina, sent in care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 N.
