Robert “Dubbie” Trefz
Graveside services for Robert “Dubbie” Trefz, 85, Eudora, will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Eudora Cemetery.Mr. Trefz died Thursday, June 12, 2008, at the Medicalodge in Eudora.He was born April 1, 1923, in Eudora, the son of George and Nora Kelly Trefz. He graduated from Eudora High School. Mr. Trefz served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked for Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant for more than 35 years.Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Nell Trefz and Mildred Trefz, both of Eudora; seven nieces, Pamela Staab, Judy Trefz, Annette Trefz and Tracy Trefz, Patty Sherman, Darla Pittman and Nancy Mannucci; and a nephew, Fred Trefz Jr.; 13 great-nieces and great-nephews; four stepgreat-nieces and stepgreat-nephews; and five great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Wilfred “Willie,” Fred and Howard.The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary Eudora Chapel, where friends may call from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday.The family suggests memorials to St. Paul United Church of Christ or Hospice Care in Douglas County, sent in care of the mortuary.Online condolences may be sent at www.warrenmcelwain.com, subject: Trefz.
