Wilma Maxine Richardson 1923 - 2008 Lawrence
Funeral services for Wilma Maxine Richardson, 76, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.Mrs. Richardson died Friday, July 18, 2008, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.She was born May 25, 1932, in Frankfort, the daughter of Ray Emmet and Maude Burton Christie.Mrs. Richardson worked at Town Crier Bookstore, as a nurse's aide at Lawrence Memorial Hospital and as a floor coordinator for Dillons before she retired. She was a member of North Lawrence Christian Church. She also helped found and was active with the Douglas County Amateur Baseball Association.She married Glen Richardson on May 15, 1954, in Raton, N.M. He died April 30, 1984.Mrs. Richardson was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Elmer, Arthur and Medary Christie; and a sister, Fern Braden.Survivors include a son, Earl Richardson and wife Teresa, Lawrence; three granddaughters, Aimee Richardson and her fiance Ryan Walkiewicz, Mallory Martinez and husband Alan Martinez, and Kelsey Richardson; three sisters, Lois Stowell, Hutchinson, and Nina Bair and Loma Gregg, both of Lawrence.The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the mortuary.The family suggests memorials to the Lawrence Memorial Hospital Endowment Association, sent in care of the mortuary.Online condolences may be sent at <a href="http://www.warrenmcelwain.com">www.warrenmcelwain.com</a>, subject: Richardson.
