William H. “Bill” Kimmel

Memorial services for William H. “Bill” Kimmel, 90, Ozawkie, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 20, at the Church of the Brethren in Topeka.Mr. Kimmel died Friday, July 11, 2008, at Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center in Topeka.He was born May 16, 1918, in McLouth, the son of Raymond David “R.D.” and May Tomlinson Kimmel. He was a 1936 graduate of McLouth High School and attended Kansas University. He had lived in Ozawkie for 10 years, moving from Morristown, Tenn.Mr. Kimmel was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Church of the Brethren in Topeka.He worked in general maintenance for many years at the Life Care Center in Morristown, Tenn., where he retired.He married Mildred Marie Landis on March 12, 1950, in North Manchester, Ind. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include a son, Mark Alan, Ozawkie; three daughters, Gisela Marie Moffet, Ozawkie, Ursula Maria West, Deerfield, Fla., and Gloria Mae Montero, Morristown, Tenn.; a brother, Robert, Middlesburg, Fla.; a sister, Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Sampson, Sterling; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.Mr. Kimmel was anatomically bequeathed to the Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan.The family suggests memorials to the Church of the Brethren, 3201 N.W.
