Mildred Caroline Eckhoff

Mildred Caroline Eckhoff, 80, Cole Camp, died Thursday, July 10, 2008, at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton.She was born Nov. 14, 1927, in Alma, Kan., the daughter of Otto and Leona Frerking Dankenbring. She was raised in Alma and later moved to Cole Turkey Acres south of Cole Camp. She moved to Overbrook, Kan., in the late 1960s and returned to the Cole Camp area in the mid-1980s.Mrs. Eckoff worked as a seamstress at Higginsville International Shoe Company and Windsor International Shoe Company. She also had worked as a box cutter at E&E Specialties in Lawrence, Kan.She married Billy Gene Eckhoff on Aug. 20, 1949. He survives, of the home.Other survivors include two sons, Ray Gene Eckhoff, Shawnee, Kan., and Vernon Keith Eckhoff, Wellsville, Kan.; two sisters, Laverne Dittmer, Independence, Mo., and Florence Butler, Phoenix; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Fox Funeral Home in Cole Camp.The family suggests memorials to Von-Hipple Lindeau Syndrome Association, sent in care of the funeral home, P.O.
