J. Fred Stubeck Jr. 1920 - 2008 Lawrence
No services will be conducted for J. Fred Stubeck Jr., 88, Lawrence.Mr. Stubeck died Saturday, July 5, 2008, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He was born June 19, 1920, the son of J. Fred and Millie Carter Stubeck.He grew up in Lawrence and graduated from Kansas University with a degree in business administration in 1942. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.After the war, he returned to Lawrence and assumed ownership of Carter's Stationery Store, founded by his grandfather, F.I. Carter.He married Doris Anderson on Aug. 19, 1947. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include a daughter, Ann Horner, Castle Rock, Colo.; two grandsons, Aaron and Adrian; and two great-granddaughters, Bree and Bryn.
