Ruby Marie Munz

Funeral services for Ruby Marie Munz, 87, Lawrence, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bethany Lutheran Church in Wichita. Burial will follow in Resthaven Cemetery, Wichita.Mrs. Munz died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.She was born Jan. 16, 1921, in Northern Barber County, the daughter of Charles E. and Grace Paden Lambert. She graduated from the Kansas School for the Deaf in Olathe. She moved to Lawrence in 2005.Mrs. Munz was a seamstress for Western Uniform. She was a member of the Wichita Association of the Deaf, Kansas Association for the Deaf, National Association of the Deaf, National Fraternal Society of the Deaf, International Lutheran Deaf Association and Roadrunners Camping Group of Wichita. She attended Bethany Lutheran Church.She married Carl J. Munz on Dec. 29, 1942, in Great Bend. He survives, of the home.Other survivors include three sons, the Rev. Jerold and wife Joyce, Lakeland, Fla., Juan and wife Belinda, St. John, and Jeff, Great Bend; two daughters, Julie Theel and husband Chuck, Olathe, and Jodine Trout and husband Doug, Lawrence; a brother, Donald Lambert, Sawyer; three sisters, Mildred Lantz and husband Gene, Wichita, Betty Catlin, Mount Vernon, Mo., and Joyce Shook and husband Bill, Mulvane; 11 grandchildren, Tessa Smith, Amanda Peterson, Toby, Kyle, Lucy and Sam Munz, Caroline Russel, Mike Theel, Dani Lybarger, Andy Trout and Vanessa Jackson; 14 great-grandchildren, Tia, Quincy, Darby and Quade Smith, Myah, Mason, Marley Jo and Zaden Munz, Piper Jo and Ava Rose Jackson, Skylar, Logan and Delaney Peterson and Anna Russel; five sisters-in-law, Myrl Munz, Doris and Karen Lambert, Wilma Munz Bennett and Rosie Ramsey; and a brother-in-law, Cleve Hildreth.Mrs. Munz was preceded in death by six brothers, Merle, Carl, Alvin, Wilbur, Floyd and Eddie; and four sisters, Oleta Hildreth, Virgie Smith, Nellie Hildreth and Lida Clark.The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at Bethany Lutheran Church.The family suggests memorials to the Wichita Association of the Deaf or Deaf Cultural Center of Olathe, sent in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, 601 Ind., Lawrence, KS 66044.Online condolences may be sent at www.rumsey-yost.com.
