Harold Peuser

Services for Harold Peuser, 78, of Paola, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Paola. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Paola.Mr. Peuser died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008, at his home. He was born July 4, 1929, in Wea, the son of George Peter and Alma Marie Miller Peuser. He graduated from Wea High School in 1947.He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1948 and served until 1952. He later worked as a dairy farmer and was active with the Rural Water District No.1, for which he had served as president and manager. He also had served as a dairy superintendent and on the Miami County Fair Board.He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He married Mary Rose Hyrup on Sept. 17, 1955, in Basalt, Colo. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include six sons, Pat, of LaCygne, Jerry, of Clinton, Utah, Mike, of Gardner, and Dale, Mark, Pete and wife Missy, all of Paola; two daughters, Rita Kennedy and husband Larry, of Meriden, and Ann Marie Peuser of Baldwin City; two brothers, Donald and wife Mary, and Robert and wife Bette, all of Bucyrus; two sisters, Dolores Meier, of Sun City, Ariz., and Joanne McElheny and husband Mike, of Tucson, Ariz.; a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Peuser, of Gardner; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m today at the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home Chapel in Paola, after which the family will meet friends until 8 p.m.Online condolences may be sent at penwellgabel.com.
