Donald Joseph "Steve" Boehm 1928 - 2008 Baldwin City
Baldwin City - Mass of Christian Burial for Donald Joseph "Steve" Boehm, 80, Paola, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Annunciation Catholic Church in Baldwin City. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Baldwin City.Mr. Boehm died Friday, Jan. 18, 2008, at Country Club Estates in Paola.He was born Jan. 6, 1928, in Lenexa, the son of Oliver and Rosa Bross Boehm. He grew up in Lenexa and attended schools there.Mr. Boehm worked on his farm in Lenexa until 1985, when he moved to Baldwin City.He was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church in Baldwin City and a past member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Lenexa.He enjoyed playing cards, gardening, singing, dancing and riding his horses.He married Eldora L. Edgerton on Dec. 29, 1956. She died May 21, 2000.Mr. Boehm was also preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Allen Joseph; a brother, Clarence; and a sister, Ethel Balke.Survivors include his four daughters, Cathi Glanville, Kansas City, Mo., Beth McConnon and husband Jim, Las Vegas, and Donna Klein and husband Bill and Ann Stein and husband Tim, all of Leawood; six sons, Steven and wife Lynne, Harker Heights, Texas, Mark, Shawnee, Greg and wife Candace, De Soto, and Bill, Jeff and David and wife Suzanne, all of Wellsville; two sisters, Mabel Fry and Betty Cox; two brothers, Larry and Ralph; 18 grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and many extended family members and friends.The family will meet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Annunciation Catholic Church in Baldwin City, with a rosary starting at 7 p.m. The family suggests memorials to Good Shepherd Hospice, sent in care of the Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, P.O.
