George Robert “Bob” Craig

Topeka – Funeral services for George Robert “Bob” Craig, 69, Topeka, will be at 1 p.m. today at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel in Topeka. Private family inurnment will follow. Memorial services will be at a later date.Mr. Craig died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.He was born July 13, 1938, in Lawrence, the son of George M. and Vivian E. Patchen Craig. He graduated from Baldwin High School in 1956. He spent his life in Vinland, Lawrence, Baldwin City, Wilson, Russell, Gorham and Topeka.Mr. Craig was an entrepreneur of many businesses, including the Dollar Wise Motel in Wilson and earned Diamond Status in Bon Del. He retired from Laidlaw Bus Company.He was an active member of the Lions Club in Wilson and Russell.He married Janice C. Spear. They divorced in 1975. He married Lois Hall Dolezal on Dec. 25, 1979. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include his faithful companion, Angel; his children, Christopher Craig, Dallas, Texas, Kelly Wall and husband Brad, Winfield, Kevin Craig and wife Roberta, The Colony, Texas, Michael Craig and wife Stacy, Russell, Michelle Kirk and husband Mark, Rebecca Jardon and husband Doyle, both of Baldwin City, Alan Dolezal and wife Sandy, Edmond, Okla.; John Dolezal and wife Jeri, Skiatook, Okla., and Linda Keller and Laura Jones, both of Manhattan; two sisters, Shirley Craig, Topeka, and Barbara Bryans and husband Dale, Topeka; four brothers, Ronnie and wife Helen, Mission, Texas, Carl and wife Suzie, Richard and wife Sandy and Gary, all of Lawrence; 20 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.The family suggests memorials to Kansas Dialysis Services, 634 S.W.
