Harold F. Sisk

Memorial services for Harold F. Sisk, 90, Eudora, will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary Eudora Chapel.Mr. Sisk died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008, at his home.He was born April 11, 1917, in Diller, Neb., the son of Alfred and Cecil Carmichael Sisk. He graduated from Sparks High School. He lived in California, Hastings, Neb., and Palmer Lake, Colo. He then spent his winters in Harlingen, Texas, and summers in Ozawkie, Topeka and then Eudora.Mr. Sisk worked on his family’s farm in northeast Kansas while he attended school. He then became a bricklayer. He worked building B-24s and served in World War II.He was a master bricklayer and a life member of the bricklayers union. He was a practicing Christian Scientist and an active member of the Methodist Church in Eudora.Mr. Sisk married Eileen McDermott in 1939. She died in 1983 in Palmer Lake, Colo. He married Alma Walton Simpson on April 10, 1986. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include a daughter, Melinda, Colorado Springs, Colo.; three sons, Greg, Malaga, Spain, Richard, Erie, Colo., and Glen, Colorado Springs, Colo.; a stepson, John Simpson, Troy; three brothers, Hank, Frankfort, Sonny, Manhattan, and Jerry, Denver; a sister, Faye Bramhall, Vermillion; nine grandchildren, John and Jeff Simpson, Julia Chumbley, James, Christine, Jesse, Matt, Kaity and Diana; and 10 great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ruby May.The family suggests memorials to Hospice Care in Douglas County, sent in care of McGilley & Frye Funeral Home, 105 E.
