Private memorial services for Thomas K. Pratt, 75, Leawood, will be at a later date.Mr. Pratt died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008, at St. Luke’s South Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.He was born Jan. 4, 1932, in Colby. He was raised in Colby and graduated from Kansas University in 1955, where he was a member of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity.Mr. Pratt served in the U.S. Army Finance Corps until 1957. He took over ownership of Pratt Hardware from his father. He was active in community and civic leadership and was president of the Colby City Council, Colby College Board of Trustees and Republican County chairman. He was also president of the Colby Chamber of Commerce, Colby Development Inc., Board of Trustees for the Colby College Endowment Association and Thomas County KU Alumni Society.He was a member of the Colby Rotary and Shrine Clubs. He received the Distinguished Jayhawker award by the governor of Kansas, Outstanding Young Man of Colby Jaycees and a Distinguished Service Award by Kansas State Jaycees.Mr. Pratt married Gretchen Isern in 1984. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include three daughters, Margaret Pratt, Mission, Kelly Pratt, Overland Park, and Susan Buck and husband Ken, Wilmington, Del.; a son, Tom and wife Sharon, Chicago; a brother, J.R. “Dick” and wife Nancy, Topeka; three stepdaughters, Betsy Guthrie and husband Steve, Mission, Amy Mulich and husband Mike, and Molly Curtis and husband Scott, all of Louisburg; a stepson, Chad Isern, Columbia, S.C.; three grandchildren, Sydney and Ava Pratt and David “DJ” Brewer; and seven stepgrandchildren, Katie and Mandy Mulich, Blake and Stacy Curtis, and Austin, Brooke and Cara Isern.He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Margaret Pratt, and a daughter, Judith Toburen.The family suggests memorials to Thomas County Historical Society, 1905 S.
