Kenneth Lyle Weeks

Graveside services for Kenneth Lyle Weeks, 73, Fort Scott, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lawrence.Mr. Weeks died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007, at Fort Scott Mercy Hospital.He was born Jan. 28, 1934, in Lawrence, the son of Charles Glenn and Wilma Louise Kinnett Weeks. Mr. Weeks grew up in Lawrence and attended Kansas School for the Deaf in Olathe. He worked at the Barteldes TNT popcorn plant and did custodial work at Kansas University. He was a client at Cottonwood Inc. for several years and worked at a sheltered workshop in St. Paul, Kan. The last few years, he worked for Tri-Valley Developmental Services in Fort Scott. Mr. Weeks enjoyed music and baseball. He was baptized in 1949 at the Church of Christ.Survivors include two brothers, Charles and his wife Bea, Romance, Ark., and Ronald, Wichita; two sisters, Marian Cashatt and her husband Donald, Baldwin City, and Carol Bergsten and her husband Harold, Orlando, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Thursday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.The family suggests memorials to Tri-Valley Developmental Services, 4305 Campbell Drive, Fort Scott, 66701.Online condolences may be sent at www.rumsey-yost.com.
