Harold L. Showalter 1927 - 2008 Kansas City, Kan.
Funeral services for Harold L. Showalter, 80, Kansas City, Kan., will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Kansas City, Kan. Burial will be in Highland Park Mausoleum.Mr. Showalter died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Minneapolis, Kan. He was born Aug. 8, 1927, in Kansas City, Mo. He graduated from East High School in Kansas City, Mo.Mr. Showalter served in the U.S. Navy. He enlisted in 1945 and served as a pharmacist's mate 3rd class. He was a 60-year member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and a 30-year member of the Green Club. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus in Salina. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Norma L. Showalter, of the home; a daughter, Sandra Hoyle, Lenexa; two sons, Rick, Salina, and Jeff, Lawrence; a sister, Doris Smith, Blue Springs, Mo.; four grandchildren; and a great-grandson.Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church, where a rosary will be said at 7 p.m.The family suggests memorials to St. Patrick's Catholic Church, sent in care of Highland Park Funeral Home & Crematory, 3801 State Ave., Kansas City, KS 66102.Online condolences may be sent at <a href="http://www.highlandparkfh.com">www.highlandparkfh.com</a>.
