Myrtle V. Haas

Funeral services for Myrtle V. Haas, 88, Ottawa, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery in Ottawa. Mrs. Haas died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008, at Christian Care Cottage in Ottawa. She was born on Oct. 21, 1920, in Mirabile, Mo., the daughter of Isaac and Bunie Whitsitt Fairbanks. She attended Lawrence High School and moved to Ottawa from Lawrence in 1963.Mrs. Haas was a homemaker.She married Jack C. Haas in Lawrence. He preceded her in death on May 18, 2002.Survivors include a son, Bob Haas, Ottawa; a daughter, Shirley Jones, Ottawa; a sister, Anna May Bolton, Lawrence; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.Friends may call after 9 a.m. Friday at the mortuary, where the family will greet them from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday.The family suggests memorials to Christian Care Cottage, sent in care of the mortuary, 235 S.
