Harriet V. Kliem

Memorial services for Harriet Violet Kliem, 85, Salina, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Salina.Mrs. Kliem died Monday, Dec. 29, 2008, in Salina. She was born Feb. 4, 1923, in Salina, the daughter of William and Freda Boshe Kelsey.Mrs. Kliem worked as quartermaster at St. John’s Military School and at the Credit Bureau of Salina. She also was a secretary-receptionist for Woodland Park, Colo., Senior Citizens Club.She married Edwin “Eddy” Kliem on July 3, 1938. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Edward; her parents; three sisters, Mae Emma “Tootie” Thompson, Lenora Frances Heidebrecht and Eva Dorothy Lorentz; and a granddaughter, Jeannie Heath. Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Kay Peterson, Salina; a son, Lewis William, Lawrence; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.The family suggests memorials to Shrine Children’s Hospitals or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospitals.
