Funeral services for Bonnie Bea Lemmon, 81, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.Mrs. Lemmon died Friday, Dec. 19, 2008, at the Lawrence Presbyterian Manor.She was born May 26, 1927, in Kansas City, Kan., the daughter of Rudy and Mildred Ruth Leslie Borgmann. She grew up in Argentine and graduated from Argentine High School. She moved to Lawrence in 1972.Mrs. Lemmon worked in the Lawrence school district and Sunflower School in food service from 1973 to 1993. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church as well as the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary.She married William M. Lemmon on Oct. 18, 1947, in Kansas City, Kan. He died Aug. 4, 1998.Survivors include a daughter, Linda L. Gandy and husband Nick, Lawrence; six sons, Larry L. Lemmon and wife Carrie, Oklahoma City, Lonnie L. Lemmon and wife Anita, Overland Park, Leland L. Lemmon and wife Debi, Shawnee, William A. Lemmon, Lenexa, Christopher M. Lemmon, Lawrence, and David P. Lemmon and wife Mary, Lawrence; two sisters, Maxine Austin and husband Charley, Lee’s Summit, Mo., and Sue Blew and husband Richard, Oak Grove, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 9 a.m. Monday until service time.The family suggests memorials to the Douglas County Visiting Nurses, Rehabilitation, and Hospice or the Lawrence Humane Society, sent in care of the funeral home.Online condolences may be sent at www.rumsey-yost.com.
