Kay Gillard

Funeral services for Kay Gillard, 62, Lawrence, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will take place at Leavenworth National Cemetery.Mrs. Gillard died Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, at her home. She was born Sept. 30, 1946, in Kendallville, Ind., the daughter of Col. Jack E. and Joan L. Breeden Goodwin.She received a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Purdue University.She married Lewis Edgar Gillard on Feb. 14, 1948, in Tulsa, Okla. He preceded her in death on March 2, 2008. Survivors include a son, Christopher and wife Cristin Michelle Bryan, St. Louis.The family suggests memorials to Topeka Gem and Mineral Society, and sent in care of the mortuary.
