Frieda Isaac

Meade — Funeral services for Frieda Isaac, 91, Meade, will be at 11 a.m. today at the Evangelical Mennonite Brethren Church, rural Meade. Burial will be in the EMB Church Cemetery.Mrs. Isaac died Friday, Dec., 12, 2008, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.She was born Aug. 11, 1917, in Meade, the daughter of J.E. and Lena Pauls Wiens. Mrs. Isaac was a member of the Evangelical Mennonite Brethren Church. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening and attending to her flowers.She married John J. Isaac on May 9, 1937, in Meade. He died Oct. 16, 1988.Survivors include a son, Larry Isaac, a longtime resident of Lawrence and now of Overland Park; a daughter, Shirley Zortman, Meade; two brothers, Eldo Wiens, Meade, and Ed Wiens, Valparaiso, Ind.; three sisters, Esther Harms, Agatha Isaac and Helen Friesen, all of Meade; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.The family suggests memorials to the Great Plains Christian Radio Station or the Beam Senior Center, sent in care of Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, 212 S.
