Leon — Memorial services for Karen Lee Holman, 70, Wichita, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Leon United Methodist Church in Leon.She died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008.She was born Dec. 30, 1937, the daughter of Walter Victor and Helen Hoffman Holman. She received her master’s degree in piano from Kansas University and taught piano for more than 50 years.She was also a member of a music sorority and played in the First Presbyterian Church Hand Bell Choir in Lawrence. She was a lay minister with Stephen’s Ministry before moving to the Wichita area. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.She was preceded in death by her father and an aunt, Jeri Vaught.Survivors include her mother, of the home; three daughters, Vickie Ridenour and husband Ted, Bethany, Mo., Janet Bauman and husband Bob, Lawrence, and Lisa Branch, Lawrence; two brothers, Tom Holman and wife Mariam, Wichita, and Joe Holman and wife Janet, Prairie Village; seven grandchildren, Byron, Dallas, Amanda, Chad, Debi, Maela and Jonathan; and 11 great-grandchildren.The family suggests memorials to the Arthritis Foundation, sent in care of Carlson Funeral Home, 200 S.
