Mary Lee Wilting

Funeral services for Mary Lee Wilting, 93, Overbrook, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Barnett-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Oskaloosa.Mrs. Wilting died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008, at Brookside Manor Nursing Home in Overbrook.She was born Feb. 21, 1915, in Winchester, Ky., the daughter of Philander L. And Nancy King Lamberson. She moved to Iowa in 1918. She graduated from Iowa Falls High School and Open Bible College of Des Moines. She moved to Winchester in 1959, where she lived for many years before she moved to Overbrook. Mrs. Wilting worked at the Dessie Scott Children’s Home in Little, Ky., as a young adult. She and her husband worked for many years as missionaries in rural Arkansas. She later worked in the office of Dr. F.W. Huston in Winchester. She was a member of the Open Bible Church and also conducted a Bible Club for young people in her home. She authored a book of devotional writings, “Parables For Today,” in 1995.She married Elmer L. Wilting on Nov. 11, 1943, in Little, Ky. He survives, of the home. Other survivors include a daughter, Nancy Gordon, Carbondale; a son, William Wilting, De Soto; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
