Julianne Regina Clark Stephens

A memorial service for Julianne Regina Clark Stephens, 65, Durham, will be at 3 p.m. today in the Duke Chapel at Duke University in Durham.Mrs. Stephens died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008, at Hospice at the Meadowlands in Hillsborough of breast cancer.She was born July 31, 1943, in Oklahoma City, the daughter of Louis Watts and Lillian Marguerite King Clark. She graduated from high school in Cullowhee, N.C., and attended St. Bonaventure University near Olean, N.Y. She received a bachelor’s degree with honors in psychology with a minor in philosophy from the University of North Carolina in 1971 and a master’s in psychology with minor in education from Duke University in 1975. Mrs. Stephens worked in the field of clinical psychology for many years and later ran her own computer database company, Accuserve. She was most recently an adjunct instructor at Durham Technical Community College. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.Survivors include her mother, Lawrence, Kan.; a daughter, Donna Manley, Durham; five brothers, Philip Clark, Santa Fe, N.M., Vincent and Victor Clark, both of Asheville, John Clark, Morrisville, and Patrick Clark, Micaville; and five sisters, Ramona Hanrahan, Myrtle Beach, S.C., Rosaleen Salvo, Gainesville, Fla.; Teresa Dutton, Canon City, Colo., Mary Giles, Norcross, Ga., and Jenny Clark Brack, Lawrence, Kan.
