Leo E. Lauber

Funeral services for Leo E. Lauber, 82, Eudora, will be at 3 p.m. Monday at the Warren-McElwain Mortuary-Eudora Chapel. Burial will follow in Eudora Cemetery.Mr. Lauber died Aug. 13, 2008, at the Medicalodges in Eudora.He was born Jan. 12, 1926, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of Leo M. and Helen Pittaway Lauber. He attended Kansas University and later graduated from the Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City, Mo.Mr. Lauber served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked as a chiropractor in Kansas City before he moved to Eudora in 1959, where he practiced until 1976. He was also founder of the Orthopedic Casting Laboratory. He was active in the Eudora City Council and Planning Commission. He was also a former president of Lions Club, served on the school board, was a member of MENSA and the ECO2 Commission and founded Intech Business Park.Mr. Lauber married Jean “Dusty” Leaven-dusky on June 2, 1950, in Kansas City, Kan. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include five sons, Mark and wife Kim, Chris, David, Rick, and Tim and wife Shelley, all of Eudora; a daughter, Joy Lauber, Eudora; a sister, Joan Caldwell, Kansas City, Kan.; and 13 grandchildren, Beau, Cody, Christina, Brandon, Ryan, Audrey, Kathryn, Megan, Bailey, Cameron, Kaitlyn, Dylan and Gracelyn.The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monday at the chapel before the services.The family suggests memorials to Crossroads Hospice, Medicalodges of Eudora or the Salvation Army, sent in care of the mortuary.Online condolences may be sent at www.warrenmcelwain.com, subject: Lauber.
