Michael “Mike” L. Crawford

Memorial services for Michael “Mike” L. Crawford, 61, Vail, Ariz., were Aug. 5 in Tucson.Mr. Crawford, a former resident of Lawrence, Kan., died at his home Thursday, July 24, 2008.He was born Sept. 8, 1947, in Ottawa, Kan., the son of Marvin L. and Mary Virginia Tedrow Crawford. He attended schools in Sunflower Village, Ottawa and Lawrence, Kan. He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1965.Mr. Crawford served in the U.S. Navy in the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged.He worked for Floresco Lighting & Signs in Tucson as a supervisor in the paint department. He also created computer prototypes for future Floresco production projects.He was a gifted artist and a master woodcraftsman. Mr. Crawford was also an Old West re-enactor.Survivors include his wife, Marilyn, Tucson; his mother, Mary Virginia Crawford, Lawrence; two sons, Marty and wife Tina, and Dallas and wife Wendy, all of Lawrence; a stepson, Greg and wife Judy, Missouri; a stepdaughter, Jenny and husband Chad, North Carolina; three sisters, Betty “Jade” Moore, Carol Hout and husband Jerry, and Rita Trybom and husband Robert, all of Lawrence; two grandchildren, Austin and Katie; four stepgrandsons; two nieces; and seven nephews.He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents, Raymond and Florence Crawford and Frank and Cora Mae Tedrow.The family suggests memorials to the Lawrence Humane Society or an organization of the donor’s choice.Online condolences may be sent to popposfamily@hotmail.com.
