Mildred Helena Tacha 1911 - 2008 Jennings
Services for Mildred Helena Tacha, 96, Jennings, will be at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 19 at Jennings United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Jennings Cemetery.Mrs. Tacha died Thursday, July 31, 2008, in Oberlin.She was born Aug. 20, 1911, in Hoxie, the daughter of John Allen and Katherine Baier. She worked on her family farm in Jennings until 1997 before moving to Oberlin. She was a homemaker and a member of Jennings United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Order of Eastern Star.She married Julius "Punch" Tacha on June 24, 1936. He died earlier.Her parents; a brother, Harry Allen; a sister, Dorothy Allen; and a great-grandson also died earlier.Survivors include a son, John Tacha, Lawrence; a daughter, Kay Brown, Jennings; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.The family suggests memorials to the church or Cedar Living Center, 810 W. Columbia St., Oberlin, KS 67749.
