Memorial services for Jane A. Baldwin, 77, Lawrence, will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.Miss Baldwin died Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at The Windsor of Lawrence.She was born Aug. 27, 1930, in Springfield, Ohio, the daughter of Dr. John W. and Nettie Bovard Baldwin. She graduated from Springfield High School in 1948 and received a Bachelor of Science in commerce with honors from Ohio University in 1952. She moved to Lawrence in 1996 to be near family.Miss Baldwin worked as an accountant at Springfield City Hospital from 1952 to 1955. She worked for the American Institute of Aerological Research in Denver from 1955 to 1960 and returned to Springfield City Hospital as a controller from 1960 to 1966. She later worked as a research associate in the Bureau of Hospital Administration at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and retired as the chief financial officer of Wyandotte Hospital in Wyandotte, Mich., in 1990 after 23 years of service. She volunteered to do taxes for the elderly and teach adults to read. She received recognition from the Internal Revenue Service, American Association of Retired Persons, the Information Center and City of Trenton, Mich. She was a member of the Chi Omega sorority, Business and Professional Women and the Welcome Club. She traveled extensively by aircraft with the Nomads in Detroit.Survivors include a sister, Marilyn Baldwin McCleary and husband George, Lawrence; and three nephews, Joseph, John and Frank McCleary.The family suggests memorials to the American Lung Association, Lawrence Humane Society or Southern Care Hospice, sent in care of the funeral home.Online condolences may be sent at www.rumsey-yost.com.
