Jamie Marie Royal Knipp

A funeral Mass for Jamie Marie Royal Knipp, 91, Basehor, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Basehor. Burial will follow in Bonner Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Knipp died Sunday, April 20, 2008, at Bonner Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.She was born Dec. 29, 1916, in Hardin County, Iowa. She lived in the Basehor area for the last 36 years. Mrs. Knipp helped maintain the family farm as a homemaker and farmer’s wife for most of her life. She later worked at many area nursing homes. She was a longtime member of Glenwood E. H. U., where she served as treasurer. She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church since 1972. She enjoyed painting, ceramics, sewing, country music, and canning and gardening for her family.She married William F. Knipp. They shared 45 years of marriage. He died in 1979.Mrs. Knipp also was preceded in death by a son, William C. Knipp, in 1999; and a daughter, Helen L. Knipp, in 2004. Survivors include four sons, Donald J., James W., Gary V., and Larry M. Knipp, all of Tonganoxie; a brother, Willis J. Royal, Santa Rosa, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, where a rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. The family suggests memorials to the Holy Angels Catholic Church Building Fund, sent in care of the funeral home, 214 Oak St., Bonner Springs, KS 66012.
