Trinidad "Trini" Chavez 1930 - 2008 Perry

Services for Trinidad "Trini" Chavez, 77, Perry, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Theresa's Church in Perry. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Perry.Ms. Chavez died Saturday, April 19, 2008, at the Hickory Pointe Care Center in Oskaloosa after a long illness.She was born July 17, 1930, in Huaniqueo, Michoacan Mexico, the daughter of Gonzalo and Maura Tapia Rodriguez. She lived in Perry for five years, then moved to Kansas City, Kan.Chavez worked for A&P, Milgrams and IGA Grocery Stores for a combined 47 years. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Perry.A daughter, Olga Yolanda Chavez, and a brother, Seferino Rodriguez, died earlier.Survivors include two daughters, Yolanda Chavez and husband Ramon C. Gonzalez Jr., Perry; Martha and Freddie Brumell, New Haven, Conn.; a son, Jose Chavez, Meriden; three brothers, Manuel Rodriguez, Aristeo "Artie" Rodriguez and Luis Tapia, all of Kansas City, Kan.; seven grandchildren and spouses, Tresa Otter and husband Tim, Ramon C. "Speedy" Gonzalez, III, and wife Sandra; Marcie Cottrell and husband Wesley, Luis Brumell, Tony Chavez, Melissa Chavez, and Gena Chavez; 11 great-grandchildren, Lacey, Kelsey, Marissa, Jarritt Otter, Trey, Colin, Gabriela, Halle, and Graciana Gonzalez, and Antonio "Tony" and Aiden Chavez.A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church.Friends may call from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.Memorials may be made to Jefferson County Hospice, sent in care of Barnett-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, P.O.
