Mary Maydeen Tade

Funeral services for Mary Maydeen Tade, 90, Lawrence, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.Mrs. Tade died Sunday, April 13, 2008, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.She was born Feb. 19, 1918, in Hominy, Okla., the daughter of James H. and Eunice Embry Hendricks. She graduated from Hominy High School in 1939. She moved to Tonganoxie in 1949. She then moved to Medicine Lodge and later to Lawrence.Mrs. Tade worked as a manager of Russell Stover Candies in Wichita until 1949. She was a Girl Scout leader and Sunday school teacher in Tonganoxie. She was an Avon representative and worked at Mayfield’s Store in Medicine Lodge until she retired in 1982. She volunteered at Lawrence Memorial Hospital for nine years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and its Good Circle Fellowship.She married Allen L. Tade on Oct. 12, 1946, in Newton. He died Feb. 13, 2008. Mrs. Tade also was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Olen and Sam Hendricks; and three sisters, Edna Creekpaun, Beulah Beasinger and Effie Kendricks.Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Suzanne Stoppel and husband Larry, Washington, Kan.; a son, Jeffrey A. Tade and partner Bruce Hall, Beaverton, Ore.; and two grandsons, Christopher and Jon Stoppel.Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.The family suggests memorials to the church, sent in care of the funeral home.Online condolences may be sent at www.rumsey-yost.com.
