Robert L. "Bob" Curtiss 1921 - 2008 Lawrence
Funeral Services for Robert L. "Bob" Curtiss, 87, Lawrence, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Graveside services with military honors will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.Mr. Curtiss died Monday, April 7, 2008, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He was born Jan. 1, 1921, in Lawrence, the son of Floyd J. and Nettie Rist Curtiss. Mr. Curtiss served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II. He retired as a truck driver for LRM Industries in Lawrence. He was formerly a taxicab driver and worked at Hercules Inc.Survivors include a daughter, Evelyn Harris, Westville, Okla.; a son, David, Lawrence; a sister, Marjorie Brown, Lawrence; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. The family suggests memorials to Hospice Care of Douglas County, sent in care of the mortuary.
