Rollin A. Clark

Funeral services for Rollin A. Clark, 91, Meriden, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Meriden United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Meriden Cemetery.Mr. Clark died Sunday, March 30, 2008, at his home.He was born Oct. 20, 1916, on the Clark homestead in rural Meriden, the son of James U. Clark and Elizabeth F. Portz Clark. He grew up in the Meriden area and graduated from Meriden High School in 1935.Mr. Clark served as Jefferson County commissioner for 16 years. He was a project leader of the Meriden 4-H for many years. He was a member of the Shawnee County Milk Producers Association, Kansas Association of Soil Conservation, Meriden United Methodist Church and Meriden Masonic Lodge.He married Elnora Crawford on April 1, 1939. She preceded him in death in 1995.Mr. Clark was also preceded in death by a brother, Valentine Clark.Survivors include a son, James R., Meriden; two daughters, Elaine Frisbie, Grantville, and Gloria Woerle and husband Edward, Rossville, Tenn.; two brothers, Delbert, Berryton, and Walter, Topeka; a sister, Ester Lortez, Berryton; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home in Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday.The family suggests memorials to the Rollin Clark Memorial Fund, sent in care of Denison State Bank, 3675 74th St., Meriden, KS 66512.
