Memorial services for Marjorie Mossman Gillahan, 82, Lawrence, will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.Mrs. Gillahan died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.She was born June 1, 1925, in Inman, Neb., the daughter of Leo and Blanche Bittner Mossman. She graduated from high school in Inman, Neb., and attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She lived in Lawrence since 1952.Mrs. Gillahan worked in the engineering department at Glen L. Martin during World War II. She worked for TWA in California on the ground and as a stewardess. She also worked for TWA in Kansas City. She was a member of PEO Chapter AZ, Ventura, Delta Delta Delta Alumni Association and the Presbyterian Church.She volunteered for Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Kaw Valley Girl Scout Council, Cottonwood, The Salvation Army, and Kansas and Douglas County Dental Auxiliary groups.She married Robert Dugan Gillahan in 1953, in Lexington, Mo. He died Aug. 21, 2004.Survivors include three daughters, Sally Gillahan, Newton, Sara Gillahan and Susan Gillahan Hall and husband Richard, all of Lawrence; and two grandchildren, Bobby and Katie Hall.Mrs. Gillahan was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Max and Bob.The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.The family suggests memorials to the Lawrence Humane Society, sent in care of the mortuary.Online condolences may be sent at www.warrenmcelwain.com, subject: Gillahan.
