Blane Leon Cook

Funeral services for Blane Leon Cook, 23, Ozawkie, will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Lawrence Funeral Chapel. Inurnment will be at a later date.Mr. Cook died Friday, Sept. 21, 2007, from injuries received in an auto accident in rural Ozawkie.He was born Aug. 2, 1984, in Topeka, the son of Wayne LeRoy and Novale Horton Cook. He attended Perry-Lecompton schools and was a lifelong resident of the Perry-Lecompton area.Mr. Cook worked as an equipment operator and laborer for Breason Excavating and Trucking in Lecompton for three years.Survivors include his father, Wayne L. Cook, Lecompton; his mother and stepfather, Novale and Gene Tyner, Lawrence; his companion, Holly Davis, Ozawkie; a brother, Justin Cook, Perry; a sister, Alicia Cook, Lecompton; two stepbrothers, Richard Tyner, Overland Park, and Luke Tyner, Lawrence; three stepsisters, Shirly Roats, Bridgeport, W.Va., Chanda Willis, Eudora, and Debra Tyner, Hilo, Hawaii; and his paternal grandparents, Orville and Joan Cook, Perry.The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at the chapel.The family suggests memorials to the Blane L. Cook Memorial Scholarship Fund to be established at Perry-Lecompton High School, sent in care of the chapel.
