Dorothy Jackie Eastman 1916 - 2007 Emporia
Emporia - Graveside services for Dorothy Jackie Eastman, 91, Emporia, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Emporia.Mrs. Eastman died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007, at Newman Regional Health in Emporia.She was born May 17, 1916, in Lawrence, the daughter of Lothe and Marie Watts Sanders. She was a longtime resident of Lawrence and moved to Emporia in 1987.Mrs. Eastman worked as a dental nurse in Lawrence for 30 years before she retired. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emporia.She married Jack Eastman on Nov. 3, 1933, in Lawrence. He died July 21, 1980.Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Cox, Emporia; a sister, Millie Bowen, Prairie Village; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.The family suggests memorials to the Sacred Heart Piano Fund, sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, 605 State St., Emporia 66801.
