Lilah Irene Anderson 1914 - 2007 Ozawkie

Funeral services for Lilah Irene Anderson, 92, Ozawkie, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Barnett-Chapel Oaks Meriden Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Maple Hill.Mrs. Anderson died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007, at Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center in Topeka.She was born Dec. 20, 1914, in Northwood, N.D., the daughter of Bertel and Anna Christianson Oswald. She was a graduate of El Monte (Calif.) High School, having returned to school to earn her diploma in 1973. She worked for many years as an assembler for the American Electronics Co. in Anaheim, Calif. She moved from California to Ozawkie in 1988.She married Herbert Andrew Anderson in 1935 in Duluth, Minn. He died Aug. 18, 1976.She is survived by her companion, Stanley Watkins, Ozawkie; one son, Wayne Anderson, Mira Loma, Calif.; one daughter, LaVonne "Lee" Broxterman, Ozawkie; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-granchildren; and three great-great-granchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Sharon L. Neal and Glori Anna Sloan; and four grandchildren.Friends may call after 1 p.m. today at the funeral chapel.The family suggests memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Foundation, sent in care of the funeral chapel, P.O. Box 331, Meriden, 66512.
