Floyd M. "Bud" Prideaux 1927 - 2007 Girard
Services for Floyd M. "Bud" Prideaux, 80, Girard, were Tuesday at Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard. Burial was in Girard Cemetery.Mr. Prideaux died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2007, in the Heritage Nursing Home in Girard.He was born Jan. 2, 1927, in Girard, the son of Floyd E. and Osola Marie Trout Prideaux. He graduated from Girard High School.He served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Mr. Prideaux worked at Breneman Auto Parts in Girard from 1941 until retiring in 2003.He was a member of the First Christian Church in Girard and a former Sunday school teacher. He served on many committees in the church, was a hospice volunteer, and was the Girard Scoutmaster for many years. He also was a member of the American Legion George C. Brown Post No. 26 of Girard and AARP.He married Bonnie C. McDermed on June 1, 1949, in Girard. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include a daughter, Cinda Holmes, Girard; two sons, Richard, Girard, and Anthony, Lawrence; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
