Memorial Services for Lois M. Kitt, 88, Baldwin City, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Private inurnment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Maple Hill. Mrs. Kitt died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2007, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.She was born Sept. 17, 1918, in Purdin, Mo., the daughter of Grafton and Clara Murrell Kingsolver. She graduated from high school in Purdin.Mrs. Kitt was a homemaker and was a former bank teller at Douglas County Bank in Lawrence and at a bank in Purdin.She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lawrence and a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Pilot Club and the Lawrence Bowling League.She married Melvin Lewis in 1939 in Marceline, Mo. He preceded her in death in 1964. She married LeRoy Kitt in March 1970 in Lawrence, and he preceded her in death in 1987.Survivors include a daughter, Karen Lind and husband Dick, Lawrence; a son, Randall Lewis and wife Sue, Lawrence; four grandchildren, Jennifer King, Mike Lewis, Kim Booth and Melody Barnes; nine great grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.The family suggests memorials to the Susan B.
