Floyd G. "Sam" Channel
Services for Floyd G. "Sam" Channel, 54, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Cremation will follow.Mr. Channel died Friday, Oct. 26, 2007, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.He was born Feb. 7, 1953, in Lawrence, the son of Floyd L. and Emma Z. Casteel Channel. He graduated from Lawrence High School.He worked as a welder and was employed by Horizon Systems, Heine Manufacturing, Westheffer Co. and Eagle Trailer Co. before becoming disabled.He married Shannon Lynn Rousselo on July 18, 1992, in Lawrence. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include two sons, Shawn Pringle and Jeremy Channel, both of Lawrence; three daughters, Samantha Strange, Heather Carlson and Christina Pringle, all of Lawrence; three sisters, Rosie Hicks, Independence, Mo., Ruby Alligood, Lansing, and Leslie Mayo, Corpus Christi, Texas; and seven grandchildren.Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today.The family suggests memorial contributions to Lawrence Oncology or to the Sam Channel Memorial Fund, sent in care of the funeral home.Online condolences may be sent at <a href="http://www.rumsey-yost.com">www.rumsey-yost.com</a>.
