James C. “Jim” Hahn

Services for James C. “Jim” Hahn, 73, Lawrence, will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Private inurnment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Military services will be conducted at the mortuary.Mr. Hahn died Friday, Oct. 26, 2007, at his home. He was born on July 30, 1934, in Lawrence, the son of Conrad and Kathryn Corel Hahn. He was a graduate of Lawrence High School and was also a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. Mr. Hahn co-owned and operated Kaw Motors and Salvage in North Lawrence from 1962 to 1993. Before that, he worked for FMC Corp. for 10 years.He was a former pack leader for Cub Scouts of America and a Guardian Father for Job’s Daughters. He was a member and past master of Acacia Lodge No. 9 AF&AM, the Scottish Rite Bodies of Lawrence, East Heights School PTA, the Wakarusa Township Fire Department, Dorsey-Liberty Post No. 14 of the American Legion, the Elks Lodge of Lawrence, the Eagles Lodge of Lawrence, and he was a former parent leader for the Meadowlark 4-H Club. He was also a race official for 25 years at the Demolition Derby at the Douglas County Fair. He was married to Audrey Faler on Aug. 30, 1952, in Bentonville, Ark. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include a daughter, Jamie and husband Troy Roadhouse, Bonner Springs; a son, Jody and wife Pam, Lawrence; a sister, Billie Laughlin, Lawrence; four grandchildren, James C. II, Justin L., Christy, and Mark; and two great-grandchildren, Aiden Anderson and Alexandria Hahn. The family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
