Myron William “Bill” McHenry

Baldwin City – Graveside services for Myron William “Bill” McHenry, 69, rural Baldwin City, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Oakwood Cemetery in Baldwin City.Mr. McHenry died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007, at his home.He was born Feb. 21, 1938, in Beatrice, Neb., the son of Truman and Juanita Moore McHenry. He grew up and attended schools in Montebello, Calif.Mr. McHenry worked in construction since he was 14 years old. He was a pipe fitter and welder working for Pipe Fitters Local 763 in Lawrence from 1959 to 1984 and Local 533 in Kansas City from 1985 until he retired in 2000. He was also a welding instructor for 17 years at Local 763.He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, helping his friends and neighbors on various welding projects and spending time with his family and friends, especially his children and wife.He married Sandra Leemay Lank on Aug. 20, 1965, in Ottawa at First United Methodist Church. They shared more than 42 years of marriage. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include four sons, Truman M. and wife Katrina, Kansas City, Mo., Timothy W. and wife Ouessia, Shawnee, Okla., David W. and wife Melissa, Ottawa, and James C. and companion Ashley, Baldwin City; a brother, Charles P., Warsaw, Mo.; a sister, Sharon Lee Simpson, Mesa, Ariz.; and seven grandchildren, Matt, Ally, Courtney, Whitney, Brandy, Blake and Mia.He was preceded in death by his parents.The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home in Baldwin City.The family suggests memorial contributions to Hospice Care, sent in care of the funeral home, P.O.
