Geneva H. Hull

Caldwell – Mass of Christian burial for Geneva H. Hull, 84, Caldwell, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Caldwell. Burial will follow in Caldwell City Cemetery.Mrs. Hull died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007, at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor.She was born June 5, 1923, in Ellsworth County near Holyrood, the daughter of Martin and Marie Ehly Maes. She graduated from Claflin High School.Mrs. Hull was a homemaker. She and her husband formerly owned weekly newspapers in Chase, Little River, Sedgwick, Inman, Buhler, Haven and Bismark, Mo. She was a member of St. Martin’s Catholic Church and Altar Society in Caldwell.She married John B. “Jack” Hull on Oct. 15, 1941, in Claflin. He died Jan. 3, 1988.Survivors include a sister, Evelyn Maes Hull, Dodge City; four sons, Don and wife Nancy Jo, Caldwell, Robert and wife Marilyn and Bert and wife Vickie, all of Lawrence, and Gary and wife Jane, Inman; seven daughters, Jacqueline Reaves and husband Dennis, Falls Church, Va., Nancy Hull-Wasbrough and husband Bill, Overland Park, Madalyn Otero and husband Jerry, Albuquerque, N.M., Lisa Swift and husband Bob, Tucson, Ariz., Genna Hurd and husband Greg, Lawrence, Maureen Reitz, Overland Park, and Laurie Wood and husband John, Shawnee; 24 grandchildren, Ami White, Emily Schmidt, Marie, Jack, Maggie, Rosie, Zachary, Katrina, Wyatt, Dru, Lydia Hull, Grace and Geneva Wood, Jason and Nico Otero, Sam and Jessica Swift, Emily Foster, John, Alex and Ellie Ott and Nathan, Andrew and Matthew Reitz; two stepgrandchildren, Brad Wasbrough and Jackie Wood; and six great-grandchildren, Hannah, Trey and Hallie White, Matt and Dean Foster and Claire Schmidt.The family suggests memorials to Lawrence Presbyterian Manor, Heart of America Hospice or St. Martin’s Catholic Church Altar Society, sent in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, 601 Ind., Lawrence 66044.
