Beulah I. Donovan 1915 - 2007 Horton
Horton - Funeral services for Beulah I. Donovan, 91, Horton, will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton. Burial will be in Horton Cemetery.Mrs. Donovan died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007, at Tri-County Manor in Horton. She was born Nov. 15, 1915, in Effingham, the daughter of Presley and Mary Meyer Page. She graduated in 1933 from Atchison County Community High School in Effingham. Mrs. Donovan was a seamstress at Horton Garment Factory for more than 25 years. She was a member of the International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union No. 198, where she served as president, and the Happy Hour Club in Effingham.She married Leslie Delfelder on Aug. 10, 1935, in Van Buren, Ark. They divorced. She married Melvin Donovan on Dec. 16, 1966, in Hiawatha. He died July 18, 2000. Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Ann Lowe, Effingham, and Brenda Kay Reichart, Valley Falls; two sons, Johnny Delfelder, Oskaloosa, and Larry Delfelder, Wichita; a stepdaughter, Joan Wheeler, Hoyt; 20 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary. The family suggests memorials to Tri-County Manor, sent in care of the mortuary, 909 Central Ave., Horton 66439.
