Catherine Mowery 1939 - 2007 Lawrence
No formal services are planned for Catherine Mowery, 68, Lawrence. Cremation has taken place.Mrs. Mowery died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007, at her home.She was born Oct. 8, 1939, in Ottawa, the daughter of William and Naomi Bean Shaw.Mrs. Mowery retired from Kansas University and was involved in the Lawrence Farmers Market.She married Robert Mowery. He survives, of the home. Other survivors include a daughter, Deborah; six sons, Jim, Mark, Mike, Larry, Scott and Bryan; a brother, Leo; two sisters, Rose and Billie; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.The family suggests memorials to the Lawrence Humane Society, Hospice Care in Douglas County or a food pantry of the donor's choice, sent in care of the funeral home.Online condolences may be sent at <a href="http://www.rumsey-yost.com">www.rumsey-yost.com</a>.
