Mildred J. Guinn 1923 - 2007
Funeral services for Mildred J. Guinn, 84, Olathe, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Guinn died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007, at Aberdeen Village in Olathe. She was born on March 29, 1923, in Leavenworth, the daughter of Paul and Cecil Ward Eagle. She was a Lawrence resident since 1959 and moved to Olathe in 1997.Mrs. Guinn worked at Hallmark Cards and retired in 1985.She married Durand W. Guinn on April 15, 1939, in Troy. He died June 13, 1993.Survivors include a daughter, Ruthailee Lash, Olathe; a son, Gary Guinn, Olathe; two brothers, Elmer Eagle, Effingham, and Paul Eagle, Leavenworth; two sisters, Alice Snell, McLouth, and Gertrude Sellens, Quenemo; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the mortuary before the services.The family suggests memorials to an organization of the donor's choice, sent in care of the mortuary.Online condolences may be sent at www.warrenmcelwain.com, subject: Guinn.
