James Boicoury Ogg

Ottawa – Graveside services for James Boicourt Ogg, 91, Ottawa, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Highland Cemetery in Ottawa.Mr. Ogg died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007, at his home.He was born March 15, 1916, in Ottawa, the son of Courtney Stamp and Mary Phyllis Boicourt Ogg. Mr. Ogg and his wife owned and operated Ogg’s Market in Ottawa for more than 40 years. He was active in the local Elks Club and achieved Exalted Ruler status. He received national recognition in the Elks national ritual competition and was awarded a lifetime membership in the National Elks Club for his work. He was a member of the local Masonic Lodge and Westminster Presbyterian Church. He was an active volunteer and supported many organizations and charities. He married Elizabeth “Betty” Seevers in 1946. She died in June of 1983.Survivors include a son, James Courtney Ogg and wife Joan, Stow, Mass.; a daughter, Maribeth Brennaman and husband Alan, Shawnee; a brother, Howard C., Oologah, Okla.; and three granddaughters, Courtney, Kelsey, and Elizabeth.The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home in Ottawa.
