Services for Pleasant Voorhees Miller III, 54, Kansas City, Mo., will be at 4 p.m. Friday at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Kansas City, Mo.Mr. Miller died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007, of complications of ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. He was born April 23, 1953, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of Pleasant V. Jr. and Alice Shankland Miller. He attended Shawnee Mission East High School and graduated from Kansas University in 1975 with an English degree. He was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. After working as a reporter for several small newspapers, he began a 28-year career as a travel agent. Among the agencies he worked for were the former Nelson Travel and Passport Travel in the Kansas City area. He enjoyed traveling.Survivors include his mother, Alice Shankland Miller, Kansas City, Mo.; a brother David W.; a sister, Allison Miller Frizell and husband Edward "Trip" Frizell III, Lawrence; nephew Thomas Frizell and nieces Laura and Lane Frizell; and several aunts, uncles and cousins, including Dr. and Mrs. Don R. Miller and Lynn Stoneback Segebrecht and husband Dr. Stephen Segebrecht, all of Lawrence, Kan. He was preceded in death by his father, P.V.
