Robert J. “Bo” Jansen

Baldwin City – Funeral services for Robert J. “Bo” Jansen, 56, Baldwin City, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Baldwin City. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Baldwin City. Mr. Jansen died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.He was born March 15, 1951, in Wichita, the son of Bill and of Mary Siruta Jansen. He grew up in Neodesha and graduated from Neodesha High School in 1969. He moved to Baldwin City in 1985.Mr. Jansen worked on a demolition crew specializing in oil refineries and grain elevators. He later worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 33 years. He most recently worked at the Lenexa post office. He was a former member of Good Sheppard Lutheran Church in Lawrence and was active with the Douglas County 4-H Group. He enjoyed living in the country and taking care of his sheep, cattle and pigs on his farm. He also enjoyed building furniture, fishing and hunting with family and friends.He married Susan Corbin on Dec. 13, 1984. They shared more than 22 years of marriage. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include three daughters, Dr. Christy Jansen, Wichita, Courtney Jansen, Lenexa, and Erin Marie Jansen, Baldwin City; a brother, Bill Jansen, Fredonia; four sisters, Debbie Walker and husband Roger, Jackie Salmon and husband Danny, and Jenifer Encarenacion, all of Fredonia, and Susan Jansen, Wichita; and three grandchildren, Lauren, Leslie and Payton Jansen.Mr. Jansen was preceded in death by his parents.The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
