George Robert "Bob" Krische 1926 - 2007
Mass of Christian Burial for George Robert "Bob" Krische, 81, Lawrence, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Lawrence Catholic Campus Center. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery.Mr. Krische died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, at his home.He was born June 18, 1926, in Topeka, the son of Frank Philip and Theresa Moritz Krische. He attended St. Joseph Parochial School in Topeka and graduated from Capitol Catholic High School in 1943. He attended Kansas University, San Diego State College and Washburn University. Mr. Krische worked at a defense plant in California, helped survey the land for Cedar Bluff Dam in Kansas and Enders Dam in Nebraska and worked for the Kansas Highway Department. He later managed a shower door manufacturing plant in Columbus, Neb.He established and managed the Craftman Shower Door Manufacturing Co. in Lawrence, plus Craftman Marble Co., Carpet King Co. and later Kansas Flooring Inc., until he retired in 2004. Mr. Krische was awarded a life membership of the Knights of Columbus, where he served as grand knight. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and was involved in the Cursillo movement.He married Donna M. Wehmeier on Aug. 21, 1950, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Topeka. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include two daughters: Nancy Krische, Lawrence, Susan Fogo and husband Dan, Lakewood, Colo.; three sons: Thomas, Edwardsville, Daniel and wife Jeanne, Longmont, Colo., and Robert and wife Debra, Baldwin City; a son-in-law, George Heiman; two brothers, Edward, Topeka, and Bernard, Escondido, Calif.; two sisters: Eleanor Kreipe, Milwaukee, Ore.; and Dorothy Evans, San Diego; 17 grandchildren, Brian, Catherine, Matthew, James, Theresa, Vincent, Michael, Elizabeth, Laura, Amy, Matthew, Lisa, Andrew, Josephine, Luke, Nathan and Veronica; and 12 great-grandchildren: Michael, Lily, Grace, Emma, Alissa, Emilie, Elienor, Benjamin, Lucas, Andrew, Joshua and Natalie. Mr. Krische was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Heiman; and two grandchildren, Joseph and Mary Krische.The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
