Harold A. Putthoff

A Mass of Christian Burial for Harold A. Putthoff, 83, Tonganoxie, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Tonganoxie. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.Mr. Putthoff died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.He was born Feb. 16, 1924, in Montrose, Mo., the son of Edward and Josephine Arens Putthoff. Mr. Putthoff owned a service station and towing service in Bonner Springs, and retired as water and sewer superintendent of the city of Tonganoxie. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Putthoff was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and served as a Boy Scout leader.He was a charter member of the Tonganoxie Historical Society, a member of VFW Post No. 9271 and Knights of Columbus in Tonganoxie, and belonged to the Fourth Degree of Pope John Paul II No. 2461.He married Connie Dobson on June 23, 1956. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include three sons, Stanley, Fulton, Mo., Terry, Parkville, Mo., and Kerry, Tonganoxie; one daughter, Cindy, Summerville, S.C.; one brother, Jimmy, Lawrence; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Quisenberry Funeral Home in Tonganoxie, where the rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m.The family suggests memorials to the Good Shepherd Thrift Shop building fund or the Sacred Heart Church belonging fund.
